A Pair of Continental Porcelain Cobalt-Ground Vases, c. 1860-1880, each domical lid above gilt-lobed shoulders, out turning panels simulating fish scales, the body joined by loop handles decorated with finely painted reserves, one displaying two harbor scenes, the other pairing an allegory of Cupid and Venus, with attendant putti and a floral bouquet all bordered by wreaths executed in tooled gold, the spreading socle on a stepped circular plinth, height 16 in., now mounted as lamps, electrified.
