A Pair of English Bronzes of Greyhounds, 19th c., after Regency or early Victorian prototypes, height 18 1/2 in., width 39 1/2 in., depth 10 in. Note: Frequently purchased in pairs to flank doorways, figures such as these were popular in England and the United States throughout the 19th century. Notable is the slight variation in the figures, specifically the two different positions of the tails, indicating a true pair. Reference: Israel.
