A Pair of Fine French Ormolu-Mounted Pâte-sur-Pâte Vases, mounted as lamps by Gagneau, Paris, late 19th c., each celadon body finely decorated with a morning glory motif, the neck surmounted by an oil lamp mechanism stamped "GAGNEAU/115/R. LAFAYETTE", scroll handles with bearded masque terminals, encircling central Greek key mount, base with laurel wreath collar over fluted plinth, vase height 15 5/8 in.
- Notes: Note: Gagneau Frères, a prominent Paris design firm, was established in 1800 and exhibited at the major international exhibitions of the 19th century with fine decorative light fittings.
