A Pair of French Bronzes of Mercury and Fame, late 19th/early 20th c., after Giovanni Bologna (Italian, 1524-1608) and Hyacinth Phileas Sobre (French, 1826-1902) respectively, the god of Trade depicted with his usual attributes of money bag and caduceus (only shaft present), height 33 1/2 in., width 6 1/2 in., depth 12 in., Fame presented with horn in one hand and a torch in the other, height 33 1/4 in., width 8 in., depth 7 1/2 in.; on matching bases with bronze frieze reliefs of putti symbolizing the Arts.
