A Pair of Japanese Bronze Incense Burners, Koros, Meiji Period (1868-1912), each globular body with leafy branch handles raised on four leafy branch feet set on a circular plinth, the sides decorated in high relief with a phoenix perched on a prunus branch and an eagle in flight above a pine, each domed cover pierced with chrysanthemum petals and surmounted by an owl on a leafy branch, height 12 1/2 in., width 11 1/2 in. Note: One detached from circular plinth.
