A Pre-Columbian Carved Stone "Sukia" Figure, c. 1500, Huetar, porous gray stone, possibly volcanic, carved as a seated male figure with arms resting on upturned knees, smoking, height 4 1/8 in., width 3 1/2 in., accompanied by a Bill of Sale dated July 30, 1984.
PLEASE NOTE: Provenance: with Guillermo von Breymann Figueroa, Minister Counselor and Charge d'Affairs of Costa Rica in Brazil (1962-1967); thence by descent to his son, Randolph von Breymann, architect and architectural historian, San Jose, Costa Rica; thence to Dr. and Mrs. Edward C. Norman, New Orleans, LA; thence by descent.
