A Rare American Timby Patent Globe Clock, c. 1864, Theodore R. Timby, Solar Time-Piece, the rectangular mahogany case with molded swan's- neck pediment surmounted by a central turned finial, acorn pendants centering the rectangular case, with opening for a calibrated paper time aperture above a c. 1860 six-inch Joslin globe, the cartouche reading "JOSLIN'S Six Inch Terrestrial Globe, Containing the latest Discoveries. BOSTON, Gilman Joslin". Drawn and engraved by W.b. Annin the lower section with central rectangular door with window revealing minute dial, and opening to reveal brass geared clock works, all raised on a molded mahogany plinth, height 26.5 in., width 14 in., depth 5.5 in.
