A Rare and Important Pair of American Classical Gessoed and Giltwood Pier Mirrors, c. 1825, New York, the stepped rectangular cornice with acorn pendants surmounted by a wreath intersected by a bow and arrow and centered by attendant birds symbolizing peace and prosperity, the frieze ornamented by a large sunflower, wreaths and rosettes, the divided mirror plates flanked by pairs of rope twist columns, height 33 in., width 29 in.
