A Rare Baltic Neo-Classical Brass-Mounted Mahogany Folio Cabinet, early 19th c., possibly by Heinrich Gambs, St. Petersburg, the later rectangular black granite top above a top once inset with leather, the conforming case with brass fluted panel over a shaped panel, the molded fall front door opening to an interior fitted with an arrangement of sliding trays flanked by stop-fluted stiles raised on bracket feet, height 37.5in., width 24 in., depth 46 in. E7000/10000 Note: Heinrich Gambs (1765-1831) was a student of the famous ebeniste David Roentgen. Gambs also enjoyed the patronage of the Imperial Family.
