Note: Daum Nancy glass is among the best and most famous French cameo glass of the Art Nouveau period. Operating out of the Verrerie de Nancy factory, the Daum family began as producers of tableware. Associating with and inspired by Gallé, in the early 1890's the Daums changed their line of work to art glass; especially cameo glass developing new methods and artistic innovations along the way. The Daum factory so surpassed other manufacturers that they were included as members of the prestigious École de Nancy, an artistic enclave whose members included the best artists and craftsmen of the time, including Emile Gallé.
