A Rare French Gilt Bronze Falling Ball Mantel Clock with Barometer and Thermometer, the top adorned by a lion figure, glazed case, enamel dial, wheel barometer and thermometer adorned with rhinestones on toupie feet, height 21 in., width 11 in., depth 9 in. E5000-7000 Note: Instead of using a key-wound mechanism, this clock is driven by the weight of metal spheres that feed into a large segmented paddle wheel before dropping into a drawer below. The prototype for this mechanism is in the clock collection at the Forbidden City, Beijing.
