A Rare Louisiana Cypress Storage or Sugar Chest, probably early 19th c., found in St. Landry Parish, the two board lift top with hand wrought strap hinges and with applied molded edge, a paneled front and sides, raised on short tapering legs, pegged construction, traces of "gros rouge" paint, in attractive unrestored state, height 23.5in. width 31 in., depth 25.5in.
