A Rare Newcomb College Art Pottery High Glaze Tyg, c. 1900-1901, decorated by Amelie Roman, (active Newcomb 1896-1939), thrown by Joseph Meyer, with grapevine motif outlined in blue on blue underglaze wash, and inscribed "One Sip of This Will Bathe The Drooping Spirits In Delight Beyond The Bliss of Dreams" around the bottom edge, the base marked with decorator and potter signatures, Newcomb cipher, and marked for buff clay body, height 6.25in., diameter base 6.125in., width with handles 7.125in.
