A Set of Six French Empire Carved Mahogany Sidechairs, signed "Jacob", this stamp was used 1813-1825, molded crest rail, lyre splatending in scrolls, bow-fronted seat, paterae-carved apron, raised on turned, tapered, carved and reeded legs. E6000-8000 Note: The "Grecian" ornamental carved motifs found on these chairs bespeak the close collaboration between Francois-Honore-Georges jacob, called Jacob-Desmalter d. 1841 and the notable designers Percier and Fontaine.
