A Sierra Leone Carved Stone Nomoli or Pomdo Figure, seated male figure carved with a long phallus extended to the circular base, his upturned forearms supporting a large head with bulbous eyes, arched brows, small nose and full closed lips, height 7 1/2 in.
PLEASE NOTE: Provenance: Acquired by William W. Hodges of Kokomo, IN, mid 1960s, while developing teacher training schools at the University of Njala, Sierra Leone.
