A Spanish Colonial Carved and Polychromed Wood Figure of the Archangel Raphael, 19th c., the crowned and winged figure holding the "Fish of Tobias" in one hand and a staff in the other, retaining original patinated surface, height 21 in., width 14 in., depth 12 in.
PLEASE NOTE: The archangel Raphael accompanied Tobias to collect money for his blind father, Tobit of Ninevah. The journey was successful and Tobit's blindness was cured by means of medicine from a fish.
