A Staffordshire Group, "The Marriage Act", c. 1825, probably Obadiah Sherratt, finely modelled and painted with the parson flanked by young bride and groom, the clerk about a draped table on a stepped marbleized base, a sign above: "The New Marriage Act, John Frill and Anne Boke Aged 21, that is right says the parson, Amen says the clerk" all within an arched alcove with stained glass windows; molded and painted verso, height 6 in., length 6.25in.
