Description:

A Steuben Verre De Soie Art Glass Vase, early 20th Century acid- etched signature, baluster-form with two applied handles, opalescent finish, height 10 in., width with handles 7 in. E600-800 Note: The iridescent surface of 'verre de soie', or 'silk' glass, is acheived by a spray application of stannous chloride. The glass was produced at Steuben through the Frederick Carder era, and was declared to be his favorite iridized glass. Ref. See The collector's Enclyclopedia of American Art Glass, by John A.
