A Venetian Polychromed Cassone, dated 1861, the lift top and sides having original faux bois reserve in cream and brown paint against a blue background, molded edge and breadboard ends, opening to a painted and sponged interior, the face with colorful reserves of vases with cabbage rose bouquets, the center panel with an oval medallion of a saint and the date 1861, raised on a molded base with blocked tapering feet, height 28.5 in., width 62 in., depth 28 in.
