mid-19th c., in the manner of Jennens and Bettridge, the circular tilt top decorated with an exotic Eastern temple inlaid with mother-of-pearl and situated on an island surrounded by other "fantasy" temples, all executed in gold on conforming shaded background, the bulbous stem raised on a domical plinth, resting on scrolled feet, height 27 1/2 in., diameter 24 1/2 in.
