A Very Fine Louisiana Inlaid Figured Mahogany Armoire, late 18th/early 19th c., having a flared cornice centered with the inlaid monogram 'EM', a double swag, and paired rectangular inlaid panels; the pair of panel doors featuring small bellflowers and a distinctive urn with trailing vines; the interior tightly constructed with cypress shelves, a center belt of three drawers and a lower belt of two drawers, brasses replaced; the cabriole legs joined by scalloped skirt with conforming inlaid swag, height 90 1/2 in., width 60 in., depth 23 1/2 in E30000-50000 Illustrated Fig 8, page 202, 'Early Louisiana Armoires' by Jessie J Poesch, The Magazine Antiques, August 1968 .
