A Very Good American Late Classical Carved and Figured Mahogany Hinged Work Table, c. 1840, probably Baltimore or Philadelphia, the top opening to reveal an inlaid and rosewood grained checkerboard, fitted with two drawers on faceted standard, four scroll feet, note: each poplar drawer bottom is signed in old script " Bertolette", height 31.75in., width 19.25in., length closed 19.25in.
