Henkels, Philadelphia, the maker's mark engraved on a lead counterweight of the fall front, the rectangular top with rounded corners above egg-and-dart molding over a geometric intaglio carved frieze, the canted corners fronted by female terms, the lid with recessed clover leaf panel opening to a desk interior; the stand bordered with a shell and scroll molding, the drawer displaying animal mask handles, the corners showing lion masks, the cabriole legs ending in paw feet, height 56.5in. , width 40 in., depth 24 in.
