Acadian Mulberry Slat-Back Chair, early 19th c., acorn finials, turned stiles, flattened-arch slats, corn-shuck seat, turned legs, double box stretcher, h. 31 1/4 in., w. 17 1/2 in., d. 15 in. Note: The elongated finials, cylindrical stiles, arched and slightly bowed slats, and simple turnings on this chair relate closely to those on several well-known slat-back chairs from the Acadian prairie, including three chairs in the Holden Family Collection and a chair owned by the City of Marksville/Hyperlite Bordelon Home Society.
