Adelle Badeaux (American/Louisiana, 1939-2010), two photo collages on paper including "To Love Is To Die", and "She Was Her Father's Daughter", both signed lower-mid center, both signed, titled and dated "1981" and the latter bearing the artist's label en verso, sight 10 1/2 in. x 9 1/ 4 in. and 9 1/2 in. x 8 1/4 in. respectively, in matching frames.
- Notes: Note: In 1980s New Orleans, Adelle Badeaux enthusiastically became involved in the emerging contemporary art scene as a collector and developing artist. With numerous galleries centered in the recently revitalized Warehouse District, Badeaux actively participated in the openings, exhibitions and art events. Local artists represented in this sale including Douglas Bourgeois, Jacqueline Bishop, George Febres and Martin Laborde soon became friends of Adelle and encouraged her endeavors in mixed media collages and photography. Adelle Badeaux's legacy is an acute eye and a strong focus exclusively on collecting innovative contemporary New Orleans art.
