"Medici Madonna", oil on canvas laid to a wood panel, inscribed "Venerable Mission Nuovo Orleans D.D.D.", 66 in. x 53 in. PROVENANCE Archdiocese of New Orleans/Notre Dame Seminary. NOTE The original work hangs in the Pitti Palace, Florence. This work was painted for St. Louis Cathedral after 1851 when the Cathedral was enlarged and renovated.
