After Joseph Walter (British, 1783-1856), "In Commemoration...The Magnificent Steam Ship Great Western", published by Ackermann, 1840, London, aquatint and hand-coloring by Reeve, sight 25 1/4 in. x 39 in., attractively framed.
- Notes: Note: The Great Western was the first ship designed to carry enough coal to steam across the Atlantic. Her maiden voyage, in 1838, from Bristol, caused a sensation when it arrived in New York Harbor.
