Stephens, Hamilton, Harris County, GA, May 8, 1840, to his cousin Martha Barns, in which he discusses at length a will he has drawn up for her. E800-1200 Note: Stephens (1812-1883) was a young man at the time of this letter, had recently been elected to the Georgia legislature, and would go on to become Vice-President of the Confederate States of America, and a Senator and Governor of Georgia.
