Alfred Lidey (British, 19th c.), "Portrait of William Grassett" and "Portrait of Eliza Grassett", c. 1839, a pair of miniature oil paintings on ivory, signed en verso the first, the faces and attire rendered in fine and exacting detail, inscriptions en verso with historical information supplied by a descendant, each sight 4 1/4 in. x 3 1/4 in., modern mats and wooden frames. Note: Vertical crack in ivory, portrait of William Grassett.
