American Classical Carved Mahogany Two-Part Dining Table, c. 1805-1825, Baltimore, with reeded edge, conforming frieze, one center leaf, turned and reeded legs, h. 28 7/8 in., l. 106 in., w. 44 in. Provenance: Didier Inc., New Orleans Note: The distinct reeded legs and tall feet on this table are very similar to those on several examples in the Maryland Historical Society, including a writing table believed to be from “Cremona,” St. Mary’s Co. (acc. 59.620); a dining table descended in the family of Col. William Pechin, d. 1849, (acc. 83.16); and a games table descended in the Turnbull and Shoemaker families (acc. 75.54. 2).
