A Very Fine American Federal Inlaid Mahogany Sideboard, early 19th c., Maryland or Virginia, kidney shaped top, conforming case with a drawer over incurvate doors flanked by curved doors, one fitted with bottle drawer, square tapered legs, yellow pine secondary wood, original brasses, height 40 1/2 in., width 71 in., depth 25 1/2 in Note: The complex case form on this sideboard, lot 324, is apparently rare in southern furniture. Interestingly, an inlaid cherry and yellow pine sideboard originating in Natchez, MS from the collection of Felix H. Kuntz sold in these rooms as lot 657, February 19, 2005 for $102,000.
