A Rare American or English Rosewood Curule Armchair, c. 1830, after a design by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, scrolled uprights, padded scrolled arms, lotus-carved curule legs, casters, boss accents throughout Note: The curved stiles, scrolled arms and fans and bosses on the curule base on this chair are very similar to a Classical armchair with bookstand by German Architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781-1841). Ref: Honour, Hugh Cabinet Makers and Furniture Designers, 1972 p. 229.
