Lot 325
American School/Southern School, late 19th c., "Portrait of a Bride", unsigned, oil enhanced photograph, sight 18in. x 15.5in. (demilune), in an ornate period giltwood frame. E1000-1500 Note: In both subject matter and style, the painting of "Portrait of a Bride" is similar to the "Portrait of Kate Wilson Smith" painted by William Aiken Walker in 1876. Both paintings depict the bride standing in the interior of a home, and there is a great emphasis on the elegant lace and satin of their bridal dresses.
