An African Carved Wood Mask, probably Dan, Liberia/Ivory Coast, hollowed crescent form, carved with exaggerated facial features, a large protruding forehead and pierced slit eyes, with rope fiber "hair" highlights, height 11 3/4 in. Provenance: The Estate of Judith Gic Shelton (1947-2011), New Orleans, LA; acquired as a gift from collector Marcello Fremura, Livorno, Italy, c. 1970
