An American Aesthetic Carved Mahogany and Burl Walnut Bedroom Suite, late 19th c., comprising a bedstead, with bas relief and burl paneled head and foot; mirrored dresser with candle shelves, rouge marble top, three drawers; armoire with mirrored door; washstand with rouge marble backsplash and top on a long drawer over two short drawers and a cupboard, door inscribed "Mr. Jones, New Orleans" in ink; (4 pcs.), bed height 77 1/4 in., length 76 in., width 56 in.; washstand height 37 1/4 in., width 36 in., depth 17 1/4 in.
- Provenance: Provenance: New Orleans Coffee Company and Louisiana Molasses Company owner William T. Jones (the "Mr. Jones" inscribed on the washstand in this suite) married Grace Dalzell Read in the late 19th c. The couple resided at her family's home, 8 Rosa Park, New Orleans.
