An American Aesthetic Carved Rosewood Side Chair in the Japonesque Taste, late 19th/early 20th c., New York, the rectangular back with two foliate panels carved in bas relief over a screen of dowel spindles, upholstered seat, square legs with carved panel and dowel spindle apron. Note: The square stiles and dowel spindle panels on this chair are similar to those on a set of eight mahogany side chairs from Olana, the Fredric E. Church house in Hudson, New York (acc.
