An American Aesthetic Highly Carved Cherrywood Pedestal, late 19th c., beveled top, foliate pierced skirt with acorn pendant corners, tree trunk stem, rustically carved plinth base with a stag and doe on animal paw feet, height 34 in., width 16 1/2 in., depth 13 1/2 in. Note: A pair of cherrywood stands with reticulated aprons and tree trunk standards nearly identical to that in this pedestal is illustrated in Dubrow, Styles of American Furniture, 1860-1960, p. 145.
