An American Aesthetic Maple and Mixed Metals Umbrella Stand, early 20th c., attributed to W.T. Mersereau & Company, rectangular embossed metal inset top, hammered copper skirt with sunflower brackets, square legs, the base fitted for six umbrellas, height 27 1/4 in., width 15 in., depth 10 7/8 in.
PLEASE NOTE: The sunflower brackets on the present lot are identical to those on a Mersereau music rest illustrated in D'Ambrosio, Anna Tobin. A Brass Menagerie, p. 18, fig. 12, and conserved in the Smithsonian (61.1078.)
