An American Classical Carved, Ebonized and Gilt-Stenciled Mahogany Cheval Mirror, c. 1825, attributed to Anthony Quervelle, Philadelphia, urn finials on columnar supports with composite capitals, scroll brackets, ebonized and stenciled bolection molded mirror, trestle base with acanthine paw feet, casters, height 71 1/2 in., width 39 in., depth 27 1/2 in.
- Notes: Note: This mirror has various elements similar to those on known items from the Quervelle workshop: the finials are very similar to those on a hallstand and mirrored dresser from Anthony Quervelle at Rosedown; carved ionic capitals are identical to those on an armoire, also at Rosedown; and the foliate stile terminals are similar to those on a mirrored dresser attributed to Quervelle pictured in Smith.
