An American Classical Carved Mahogany Grecian Sofa, c. 1825, attributed to Anthony Quervelle, Philadelphia, the vitruvian scroll crest rail with acanthus and rosette terminal, one scrolled arm fitted for a bolster, reeded seat rail on paw feet with cornucopiae, height 34 in., width 70 in., depth 23 in. E5000-7000 Reference: A sofa attributed to Quervelle and illustrated in Robert Smith, 'The Furniture of Anthony Quervelle, Part V: Sofas, Chairs, and Beds', The Magazine Antiques March, 1974, figure 6, shares very similar scroll terminal on the crest rail and similar execution of bolster arm.
