An American Classical Carved Mahogany Sideboard, c. 1825, Philadelphia, the top with a marble drop center, mirrored back flanked by Ionic columns, the sides with cornucopia and acanthus scrolls, bolection molded drawers, small tray drawer and gadrooned moldings, rounded cupboard doors, flanked by Ionic columns, raised diamond paneled center cupboard, plinth base, bulbous leaf and beard carved legs, on casters, height 56 1/2 in., width 67 1/2 in., depth 23 1/2 in.

  • Notes: Note: The cornucopia brackets, mirror frame, case form, and lozenge door moldings on the cabinet doors on this sideboard are identical to those on a sideboard attributed to Anthony Quervelle illustrated in Boor. Philadelphia Empire Furniture, p. 398, fig. 249.
