An American Classical Carved Mahogany Sideboard, c. 1825, New York, school of Duncan Phyfe, with pedimented splash rail, the brass gallery with key terminal resting on diamond balusters, the frieze containing three blind drawers, the pair of paneled doors centered by a pair of bottle drawers, the engaged Ionic columns above a recessed plinth, the acanthus carved and turned legs ending in brass paw feet, height 55 in., width 59.5in., depth 24 in. E6000/8000 Note: The form of this sideboard, particularly the pedimented splashrail, the exact drawer configuration, and usage of brass paw feet relate closely to a Phyfe sideboard illustrated in Duncan Phyfe and the English Regency by Nancy McClelland, plate 154.
