An American Classical Inlaid Mahogany Piano Forte, early 19th c., bearing plate marked Charles Pommer, Philadelphia, the rectangular case with blocked and banded embellishments, two sheet music drawers, the legs superbly carved with acanthus bands, brass cuffs, casters, height 35 in., width 70 1/2 in., depth 27 3/8 in.

  • Notes: Note: An inlaid mahogany piano forte also bearing the label of Charles Pommer (Philadelphia, 1780-1839) is part of the furnishings of the Ephraim McDowell House in Danville, Kentucky. In 1824 the Pommer shop was located at 106 North Third Street, Philadelphia.
