An American Classical Mahogany Armoire, c. 1830, Baltimore, with projecting cornice above an incurvate frieze, the faceted tapering full columns flank book-matched doors; divided interior with original fitted center section of shelves and drawers, raised on scroll feet, height 87in., width 77in., depth 31in. E3500-5000 Note: A nearly identical armoire corresponds in design to John Hall's Cabinet Makers Assistant figure 174. it can best be described as a combination of "Grecian" and "plain style". The book was received with much enthusiasm in Baltimore where it first appeared. Other related examples were part of the oeuvre of J. & J.W. Meeks of New York City.
