An American Classical Mahogany Double Door Armoire, c. 1815-20, cove-molded cornice, the paired paneled doors with opposing grain, a fluted center panel attached to the left door, retaining cypress shelves and medial belt (with two drawers missing), a beaded lower drawer, tapering reeded legs ending in ball feet, height 90in., width58in., depth 22in. E5000-7000 Note: Related Louisiana armoires are illustrated in Early Furniture of Louisiana, exhibition catalogue of the Louisiana State Museum, by Jessie Poesch. Of particular interest are catalogue numbers 54 and 56, both of which also have tapering reeded legs ending in brass ball feet.
