An American Coin Silver Goblet, Gale & Hayden, New York and Charleston, SC, c. 1848, ovoid bowl with scroll rim, repoussé scene of bucolic landscape on punch ground, cartouche engraved "William R. Miles June 30th, 1848", stepped foot with floral repoussé and egg and dart banding, height 5 1/4 in., weight 5.50 troy ozs.
- Provenance: Provenance: Descended in the family of Confederate General William R. Miles of Mileston, Mississippi, and New Orleans. Son William R. Miles was born in 1848.
