An American Federal Mahogany Chest of Drawers, c. 1800, probably Southern, fitted with original brass pulls, bails stamped "HJ" for Thomas Hands & William Jenkins, Birmingham, England; molded top above four graduated drawers, bracket feet, height 34 1/4 in., width 39 1/2 in., depth 20 in. Note : Between 1791 and 1797 to 1805 Thomas Hand and William Jenkins formed a partnership in the manufacture of ""commode handles"".
