An American Gilt and Lacquered Brass Solar Lamp, c. 1850, attributed to H.N. Hooper and Co., Boston, pattern no. 419, the font encircled with star and snowflake prisms, the figured standard modeled as a youth in 18th c. attire on spreading foliate pedestal and square marble plinth, period etched and cut blown glass shade decorated with gothic windows. Provenance: Sotheby's New York, July 16, 1998, as lot 482.
