An American Gothic Carved Walnut Bookcase, c. 1830-1840, New York, the arcaded cornice with acorn pendants over three glazed doors with trefoil tracery at corners, flanked by reeded colonettes, the blocked plinth with large square feet; restored. height 99 in., width 86 1/2 in., depth 25 in. Provenance: A Lower Garden District house, New Orleans, near St. Alphonsus Church.
