An American Innovative Oak Revolving Bookcase, late 19th c., labeled "Danner", Ohio, rope-molded top with book stand, fitted tiers with slatwork sides on conforming shoe foot base, height 45 1/2 in., width 21 in., depth 21 in. Reference: Dubrow, Furniture Made in America, 1875-1905, p. 178. Note: A bookcase nearly identical to this lot is illustrated in a c. 1886 catalogue declaring the design "very handsome".
